Human Resources Administrator
Job Description
Robert Half is seeking a Human Resources Administrator to help manage core HR activities for a growing distribution company in New Orleans. This position supports the employee experience from onboarding through ongoing employment by coordinating records, assisting with benefits and payroll-related tasks, and helping maintain compliance across daily HR processes. The right candidate brings strong organization, sound judgment with sensitive information, and a team-first approach in a fast-moving office and warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day administrative support for human resources functions, ensuring employee information is accurate, current, and properly documented.
• Coordinate onboarding activities for new team members, including employment paperwork, orientation scheduling, and follow-up on required forms.
• Maintain personnel files and HR records in accordance with company standards, legal requirements, and internal confidentiality practices.
• Assist with benefits-related administration by supporting enrollments, updates, and employee questions regarding available programs.
• Provide support for payroll processes by gathering and reviewing employee data, resolving discrepancies, and helping ensure timely submissions.
• Respond to employee inquiries on workplace policies, HR procedures, and general employment matters with professionalism and discretion.
• Help monitor compliance with applicable employment regulations and internal policies, including documentation and reporting needs in a multi-state setting.
• Use HRIS and Microsoft Office tools to track, update, and organize employee data, reports, and routine administrative workflows.
• Contribute to special projects and provide broader office support as needed in a collaborative, close-knit team environment.
• Prior experience in human resources administration, HR generalist support, or a closely related role.
• Working knowledge of onboarding, employee records management, benefits administration, and employee relations practices.
• Experience assisting with payroll processes and maintaining accurate confidential employee data.
• Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across office and warehouse teams.
• High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain professionalism in all HR interactions.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred; experience supporting employees across multiple states is a plus.
