Senior Accountant
Job Description
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate reporting and resolution of outstanding items through daily cash clearing and cash reconciliation activities. You will prepare, review, and post journal entries in compliance with accounting policies and procedures, and support the financial close processes.
Responsibilities- Perform daily cash clearing and cash reconciliation activities.
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries.
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger and subledger accounts.
- Review journal entries and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Conduct balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
- Maintain the integrity of financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls.
- Assist with financial reporting and preparation of supporting schedules.
- Research accounting issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Collaborate with various business units to resolve transactions and account balancing issues.
- Support internal and external audit requests by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements in the banking industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in banking, financial services, or regulated industries.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial close processes.
- Experience preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Jacksonville, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
