Position Overview

MSD Wayne Township is seeking multiple dedicated Special Education Teachers to join its student-centered special education team. These full-time opportunities support students in life skills classrooms and provide the chance to make a meaningful impact while working alongside experienced support staff in a collaborative educational environment.

Assignment Details
Start Date: August 19
End Date: June 4
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Current Priority Opening

The most immediate need is for an Intermediate Life Skills Classroom that serves:

9 students
Multi-categorical caseload
2 dedicated paraprofessionals assigned to the classroom
Supportive team-based environment

Additional openings are available in various life skills classrooms throughout the district.

Responsibilities
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
Provide specialized instruction aligned with student needs
Support students with a variety of disabilities and learning needs
Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Required Qualifications
Active Indiana Special Education Teaching Certification
Experience working with students with diverse learning and behavioral needs preferred
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Commitment to helping students achieve academic and functional goals
