Packaging Cost Engineer

Packaging Cost Engineer Job Description:

The goal of the Packaging Cost Engineer is to ensure that client is using the correct cardboard packaging for incoming materials as well as to ensure that client is paying the appropriate price for cardboard or to identify a better solution.

The engineer in this role will first look at cost and packaging data of upcoming programs, as well as the part design to help ensure the most cost efficient and effective solution is in place for each part. Often times, suppliers will hide profit in the cost of cardboard to increase margins on their product. Client has historically not evaluated the price of these solutions and may be paying too high of a price.

Typical hours for this position are 8am-4pm (but flexible based on start time) Hybrid schedule in which employees are expected to work on sight (Tue-Wed-Thur) and opportunity to work from home on Monday and Friday.

No expected overnight travel for this position and no overtime is planned.

This is a Contract position based out of Warren, MI.

The pay range for this position is $44.00 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
