We are looking for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to support a Contract position based in Detroit, Michigan. In this role, you will oversee core accounting operations, keep financial records accurate and current, and help ensure timely reporting across daily and monthly activities. The ideal candidate brings strong bookkeeping expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple financial priorities with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee end-to-end bookkeeping activities, ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and consistently across the organization.
• Handle incoming and outgoing payments by managing invoice processing, collections, and vendor disbursements in a timely manner.
• Record accounting activity through journal entries and maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
• Complete regular reconciliations for bank accounts and credit card statements to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Administer payroll processing while helping maintain adherence to applicable wage and payroll requirements.
• Produce periodic financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements that support business decision-making.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking to provide visibility into the company’s financial position.
• Organize financial documentation and assist with month-end and year-end closing tasks, audit support, and tax preparation coordination with external partners.• At least 3 years of experience in full charge bookkeeping or a closely related accounting role.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Solid knowledge of core accounting practices and financial recordkeeping standards.
• Hands-on experience with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or comparable software.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, and data review techniques.
• High level of accuracy, strong organizational ability, and a consistent approach to meeting deadlines.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
