Job Description
As a CNC Machinist, you interpret and apply customer specifications, set up and operate CNC lathes or mills, and ensure parts are produced accurately and efficiently. You enter specifications into CNC machines, monitor operations, and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with 5S principles while supporting continuous production needs.
Responsibilities- Interpret and apply customer specifications to ensure parts meet all requirements.
- Enter detailed machining specifications and parameters into CNC machines.
- Set up tooling and workholding for CNC lathes or mills to prepare for production runs.
- Set up, operate, and adjust CNC mill or lathe equipment to produce precision components.
- Edit CNC programs as needed to optimize performance and achieve correct dimensions.
- Monitor the operation of CNC machines during production to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform machining and setups in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
- Follow 5S principles to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
- Perform all tasks while adhering to safety protocols and company safety guidelines.
- Handle complex machines and tools with care and proficiency to minimize downtime and defects.
- Communicate effectively with team members and leadership regarding production status, issues, and improvements.
- Support production across different shifts as needed and collaborate with other machinists.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.
- Hands-on experience with CNC lathes and CNC mills, including setup and operation.
- Ability to perform CNC programming edits to adjust and refine machining processes.
- Strong machining skills with a solid understanding of mill and lathe operations.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers to check dimensions.
- Above-average math skills to calculate dimensions, tolerances, and machining parameters.
- High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in all machined parts.
- Demonstrated excellent critical thinking skills to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills to share information clearly with team members.
- Ability to handle complex machines and tools safely and effectively.
- Capability to work on different shifts (weekday, night, or weekend) as required by production needs.
- Familiarity with 5S workplace organization principles.
- Comfort working with both mill and lathe equipment.
- Experience in machining environments that require tight tolerances and quality control.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production setting.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility designed to maintain a comfortable and consistent working temperature. You work with CNC mills and lathes, complex tooling, and precision measuring equipment such as micrometers. Multiple shift options are available: a weekday shift Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., a night shift Monday through Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. with a shift differential, and a weekend shift Friday through Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., where you work 36 hours and are paid for 40 hours. The environment emphasizes safety, organization through 5S principles, and collaboration among machinists across all shifts.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
