Special Education Teacher | Painesville, Ohio

Make a difference in the lives of middle schoolers as an Intervention Specialist supporting students with autism in a welcoming, supportive environment. This full-time contract opportunity is based in the Geneva, OH area and offers consistent hours throughout the academic year. You’ll foster growth and independence for a small group of 5 middle school students within a specialized autism unit, collaborating closely with a dedicated team of educators and specialists.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification required
• Experience or training working with students with autism preferred
• Familiarity with IEP development and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills
• Adaptable, patient, and detail-oriented, with a passion for student-centered education

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and support for middle school students with autism
• Develop and implement effective IEPs tailored to each student's needs
• Foster a safe, structured, and encouraging classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with general educators, therapists, and families to ensure a cohesive support plan
• Track student progress, document outcomes, and adjust interventions as needed
• Participate in professional development and team meetings
