Junior Estimator

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.

• Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare labor, equipment, and material cost estimates.

• Assist with developing project bids, estimates, and proposal submissions.

• Solicit and evaluate quotations from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.

• Maintain estimating databases, cost information, and historical project records.

• Conduct site visits to evaluate project conditions and constructability.

• Attend pre-bid meetings, client walkthroughs, and project site visits.

• Gather field data required for accurate labor, equipment, and material estimates.

• Coordinate with field supervisors and crews to understand production rates and construction methods.

• Support estimating activities for electrical utility infrastructure projects.

• Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.

• Assist with evaluating project requirements, scope, and potential costs.

• Collaborate with project teams, vendors, subcontractors, and field personnel.

• Support the preparation and organization of bid packages and estimating documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

• 2-5 years of experience in electrical utility, electrical construction, power delivery, or a related industry.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.

• Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

• Valid driver's license.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.

• Experience with utility distribution, transmission, or substation construction projects preferred.

• Familiarity with estimating software and project management systems preferred.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments.
