Job Description
TradeSource is actively hiring Journeyman Plumbers for a long-term commercial construction project in the New London, CT area. This is not a short-term service call or a few weeks of work—we are looking for experienced plumbers who want consistent hours and the opportunity to stay on a project for the long haul.
What You'll Be Doing
- Install, assemble, and maintain commercial plumbing systems on an active construction project while meeting production schedules and quality standards.
- Install water supply, waste, vent, and drainage systems, including measuring, cutting, threading, and fitting pipe to match blueprints, layouts, and jobsite conditions.
- Perform pipe installation, rough-in work, fixture setting, and equipment connections according to project specifications, plumbing codes, and construction drawings.
- Read and interpret plumbing blueprints, schematics, and layouts to determine material requirements, system routing, fixture locations, and proper installation methods.
- Install plumbing fixtures, water heaters, pumps, valves, and related equipment while ensuring all work is completed accurately, efficiently, and to code.
- Work alongside other plumbers and construction trades while coordinating installations around framing, mechanical, electrical, and other ongoing site work.
- Identify and correct plumbing issues or installation deficiencies before they lead to delays, failed inspections, or costly rework.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following OSHA requirements and all project-specific safety procedures.
- Work independently or as part of a plumbing crew while maintaining reliable attendance, productivity, and professional jobsite standards.
What We're Looking For
- Journeyman-level plumber (P1/P2) with commercial construction experience and the ability to perform high-quality plumbing work with limited supervision.
- Strong pipefitting and installation skills, including the ability to measure, cut, thread, and assemble various piping systems accurately.
- Experience with commercial plumbing systems, including rough-in, underground, waste/vent, water supply, and fixture installation.
- Ability to confidently read blueprints, plumbing prints, and schematics and translate drawings into accurate field installations.
- Solid understanding of plumbing codes, installation methods, and construction practices with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve jobsite issues.
- OSHA 10 certification is preferred, with the ability and willingness to complete any additional safety training required for the project.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance are required due to the long-term nature of the project and consistent work schedule.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to completing the project are essential—we are looking for plumbers interested in steady, long-term work.
