Job Description

Requirements:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification in Michigan, with CI (Cognitive Impairment) endorsement (required)
- Experience or strong interest in supporting students with ASD and behavioral/mental health needs
- Proven ability to implement IEPs and individualized behavior strategies
- Skilled in collaborative, team-based approaches to student success
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Ability to start as soon as possible and commit through June 2027
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to an individual student aged 8 or 9
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs with a strong team, ensuring goals address social, emotional, behavioral, and academic growth
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment at the Ed Tech Center
- Apply positive behavior interventions and mental health supports tailored to student needs
- Collaborate closely with educators, therapists, and family to maximize student progress
- Maintain accurate records and reports as required
This position offers consistent weekday hours from 7:30 AM – 2:45 PM, Monday through Friday, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
