Laboratory Client Services Representative
Kelly® is hiring a Laboratory Customer Care Representative to support a growing laboratory organization.
Job Details:
- Target pay rate: $25 - $30/hour
- Tuesday – Saturday
- Tue-Fri: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Sat: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Location: Irvine, CA
Are you a customer-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment? We’re looking for someone with strong customer service or inside sales experience who can confidently manage client inquiries, solve problems, and coordinate across multiple teams.
Previous customer service experience within a highly regulated industry, laboratory diagnostics, capital equipment, or medical device company is a plus, but not required.
What You’ll Do
- As a Customer Care Representative I, you’ll serve as a key point of contact for clients, patients, Sales Representatives, and internal departments.
- You’ll provide responsive, professional support while helping resolve customer needs and maintaining accurate documentation within a regulated laboratory environment.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with clients, patients, and Sales team members
- Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound phone calls and emails
- Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries received by phone, email, and fax
- Research and resolve questions and concerns from clients and Sales Representatives
- Assist with routine held specimens and Additional Information Required cases
- Communicate case rejections to the Sales team through Salesforce
- Distribute patient reports to appropriate facilities
- Provide report summaries to clients upon request
- Generate corrected, amended, and addended reports and complete necessary follow-up
- Accurately document client interactions in Salesforce and the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer needs and deliver a positive customer experience
- Perform additional duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- Previous customer service or inside sales experience
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry is a plus
- Customer service experience with a laboratory diagnostics, capital equipment, or medical device company is a plus
- No scientific degree or scientific background required
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to handle a high volume of calls, emails, and competing priorities
- Ability to learn new systems, processes, and product/service information
- Ability to adapt to changing procedures, policies, and responsibilities
- Experience with Salesforce, CRM platforms, or Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
Work Environment
- This position requires extensive computer and phone use, including up to eight hours of screen time per day and frequent use of a keyboard, mouse, and telephone. Occasional use of standard office equipment may also be required.
- The ideal candidate will be comfortable communicating with customers throughout the day, navigating multiple systems, multitasking, and maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
