Supply Chain Coordinator

Aston Carter
Austin, TX, US Full Time

Job Description

Job Description

Description

Every change to a client product — a customer asking for ceramic bearings, a component update, a cost-down redesign, a supplier substitution — enters as a Product Change Request (PCR) and must be evaluated, tested, approved, and implemented without stalling or slipping through the cracks. Today those requests cross Engineering, Quality, Test & Integration, Supply Chain, Sales, and two manufacturing sites, and no single person owns keeping them moving.

The PCR Coordinator is that person. You own the PCR pipeline end to end: triaging every new request, routing evaluations to the right functions, coordinating testing, chasing approvals to their dates, recording every decision, and driving implementation through to closure. You do not make the engineering calls — you make sure the people who do make them on time, with complete information, and on the record. The role is process ownership, not project management of the changes themselves: you run the system that keeps every change visible, dated, and owned.

What you’ll do:

• Intake and triage every new PCR in the Jira PCR project within a defined SLA — confirm the request is complete (affected products, reason for change, needed-by date, requester), and route or reject with a clear reason. Nothing sits untriaged.

• Route evaluations to Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales; set evaluation due dates and chase them. Every open PCR has a named owner for its next step — never a team, never “pending.”

• Coordinate Test & Integration — submit and track Factory Settings File (FSF) requests, test requests, and test-data requests through the T&I portal; link work items across the PCR, TAI, and related Jira projects so a change’s full history lives in one thread.

• Track approvals per the PCR Procedure; schedule and run the change review forum, record each decision with the decider’s name, date, and rationale, and communicate outcomes to requesters — including customers, via Sales.

• Own pipeline visibility — aging reports, status dashboards, and a weekly summary of open PCRs sorted by needed-by date. Escalate anything stalled past 30 days to the accountable functional lead.

• Drive changes through implementation: BOM and drawing updates, document releases in the Controlled Document Library, plant readiness at Round Rock and Saltillo, and confirmation that the change is effective before closing the request.

• Own and improve the process — the PCR Procedure is the controlled document you keep current: intake forms, approval matrix, automation rules, and training for requesters. You will inherit gaps (undefined initiators and approvers) and are expected to close them in your first quarter.

• Support quality audits with complete, auditable change records — the PCR pipeline is direct evidence for ISO management review. What success looks like

• Every PCR triaged within 2 business days; zero untriaged requests older than that.

• No PCR stalled more than 30 days without a documented escalation.

• Every closed PCR carries a recorded decision — who decided, when, and why.

• Cycle time from intake to disposition measured, reported monthly, and trending down.

• The PCR Procedure complete and current — no placeholder sections — within 90 days.

They're developing internal tools for this person that will make the job easier. This person will be driving the boat for product lifecycle.

DTD: Triggering activity and request to create new SKUs, following up with activity owners, identifying road blocks // removing road blocks & bottle necks, and managing reports of SKU requests. The PCR coordinator is going to start the day revieiwng the PCR Dashboard on past due and due for today. Product Lifecycle management. SKU requests 15-20 on a normal week, 5-10 on a slow week. Each request could have 5-10 requests each.
