Job Title: General Labor – Cylinder Refurbishing (2nd Shift)Job Description

This role focuses on inspecting, refurbishing, and certifying cylinders in an industrial manufacturing environment. You will handle incoming and outgoing product, use hand tools to restore cylinders, complete production paperwork, and support inventory tracking while actively contributing to a strong health and safety culture.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and certify incoming and outgoing cylinders according to established procedures.
  • Use hand tools to scrape paint and refurbish cylinders to required standards.
  • Assist supervisors with tracking incoming and outgoing production inventory.
  • Complete all required paperwork, including production reports, downtime logs, and inspection forms, accurately and on time.
  • Follow detailed job instructions and standard operating procedures for all tasks.
  • Tag and label products correctly to ensure proper identification and traceability.
  • Lift, move, and position cylinders and materials safely throughout the workday.
  • Operate handheld tools and basic equipment used in the refurbishing and inspection process.
  • Monitor and understand measurement readings such as pressure gauges and scales to verify product specifications.
  • Use basic computer systems to enter data, review information, and support production reporting.
  • Apply basic math skills to count, measure, and verify quantities and production metrics.
  • Meet performance goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Participate actively in a health and safety culture, following all safety rules and using required personal protective equipment.
  • Work overtime when necessary to support production demands and customer needs.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, write, and clearly communicate in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and bend, sit, squat, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to operate handheld tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal job instructions accurately.
  • Ability to understand and interpret measurement readings such as pressure gauges and scales.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and production reporting.
  • Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities.
  • Ability to meet performance goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • General labor experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment.
  • Experience with packaging, tagging, inspecting, and production labor tasks.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled industrial manufacturing facility.
  • Experience with refurbishing, scraping, or similar hands-on maintenance work.
  • Ability to work effectively on a structured 2nd shift schedule (4:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m., Monday–Friday).

Work Environment

This position is based in a non-climate-controlled industrial manufacturing facility, where you will work primarily on 2nd shift from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. The environment involves regular lifting of up to 50 lbs., standing, bending, sitting, and squatting for extended periods, and working with handheld tools, gauges, scales, and basic computer systems. All new employees must have steel-toe footwear starting on day one. The dress code requires work pants or jeans with short-sleeve T-shirts or jackets as needed; shorts and sleeveless tops are not permitted. High-visibility attire is required, and the company provides a safety vest, glasses, and gloves to all employees. Employees may wear neon yellow T-shirts or jackets without a vest if they prefer. Food options near the facility are limited within a 30-minute lunch break, so employees may want to bring a packed lunch.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rhome, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
