The Material Handler plays a key role in maintaining accurate, secure, and accountable inventory within a fast-paced warehouse and production environment. This position supports efficient operations by receiving, inspecting, storing, moving, and shipping materials while consistently following established procedures and quality standards. The role requires careful documentation, system updates, and adherence to safety and operational protocols to ensure smooth and reliable material flow throughout the facility.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure inventory integrity by accurately documenting transactions, updating systems, and verifying processes.
  • Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and supplies in designated locations.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to established procedures and quality standards.
  • Conduct physical inventory counts and assist with cycle counting activities to maintain accurate stock records.
  • Analyze and resolve inventory discrepancies and adjust records as needed in coordination with established processes.
  • Audit inbound and outbound shipments to confirm accuracy, completeness, and compliance with quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions for data entry, reporting, and tracking purposes.
  • Support inventory replenishment strategies to help maintain optimal stock levels and prevent shortages.
  • Safely transport and deliver materials within the facility using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, operational protocols, and workplace procedures at all times.
  • Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to ensure timely material availability and efficient workflow.
  • Use RF scanners and basic computer systems to track, document, and verify inventory movement and order processing.
Essential Skills
  • At least one year of recent material handling experience.
  • 0–2 years of warehouse, logistics, or material handling experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control processes and systems.
  • Ability to use RF scanners to accurately document and process items.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, work orders, and standard operating procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Effective organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as required.
  • Ability to operate or willingness to learn material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, inventory tracking, and system updates.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in production, general labor, or warehouse operations is beneficial.
  • Comfort working in a structured environment with established processes and procedures.
  • Willingness to learn new systems, equipment, and inventory control methods.
  • Ability to work effectively across different shifts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Reliability and consistency in attendance and meeting operational expectations.

Work Environment

This role is based in a medical device production facility where clean rooms and warehouse operations operate under one roof, providing a structured and quality-focused environment. The facility is air conditioned, offering a comfortable workplace throughout the year. Team members work around production and warehouse equipment and use RF scanners and material handling tools such as pallet jacks and potentially forklifts. Multiple shifts are available, including a first shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM and a second shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, allowing flexibility in scheduling within a consistent full-time workweek.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
