Job Title: R&D Technician/Junior Quality Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated R&D Technician or Junior Quality Engineer to support inspection activities for medical device components and assemblies. This role involves performing dimensional inspections, documenting results, and ensuring products meet defined specifications and quality requirements. The ideal candidate will possess experience within the medical device industry, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional inspections of medical device components and assemblies.
  • Document inspection results and ensure products meet quality specifications.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and inspection methods.
  • Conduct documentation review and testing validation.
  • Troubleshoot and build-out processes.
  • Adhere to Good Documentation Practices (GDP) in documenting inspection results.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in the medical device industry or regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in selecting and using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, height gauges, and vision systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures and instructions.
  • Proficient computer skills for entering and maintaining inspection data.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Experience operating MicroVu Vision systems and programming MicroVu inspection routines.
  • Exposure to quality systems within ISO and FDA-regulated environments.
  • Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

Work Environment

The position is 100% on-site and requires working independently as well as collaborating with other technicians from the engineering team. The work environment is centered around a state-of-the-art device to treat prostate cancer, which has received U.S. FDA Breakthrough Device Designation for its innovative therapy.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Maple Grove, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
