We are seeking dedicated and physically capable individuals to join our manufacturing plant as Steel Laborers. This role is unionized and offers an excellent benefits package. Candidates must be willing to work rotating shifts and weekends as required in a heavy industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare molds for casting using scrapers and wire brushes.
- Assist the First Pitman in setting and stripping molds and hot tops for casting.
- Operate hand tools and equipment such as air hammers, pendant control cranes, and mold furnaces.
- Assist furnace crew with material handling, including loading scrap charges and additives.
- Participate in dome assembly and positioning for vacuum degassed heats.
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of the mold furnace and related equipment.
- Help in emergency situations such as cut-outs, ladle failures, and cave-ins.
- Perform duties inherent with mold furnace operation, such as loading and unloading molds and adjusting furnace cycles as needed.

Work Environment
This position is based in a heavy industrial setting that includes a melt shop, forge shop, machine shop, and finishing shop. Employees will work in conditions that can be extremely hot during the summer and very cold during the winter. The environment is loud and can be dirty in certain areas. Shifts rotate weekly, with the following schedule: 1st shift - 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 2nd shift - 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, 3rd shift - 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Burgettstown, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $54000.00 - $60000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
