Per Diem Clinical Pharmacist - Yucaipa, CA
Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Two-week inpatient hospital pharmacist coverage is needed in a scenic Southern California town for a skilled clinical pharmacist to provide expert medication management and patient safety. This per diem opportunity focuses on inpatient pharmacy care, sterile compounding, and critical response duties within a supportive team environment.
Location:
Yucaipa, CA
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Full-time)
- On-call weekends and after hours (calls are infrequent but coverage is mandatory)
Responsibilities:
- Verify and review medication orders to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and patient safety
- Compound sterile medications, including IV admixtures and unit dose medications (no chemotherapy or hazardous drugs at this site)
- Respond promptly to any emergency room codes as needed
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and sterile compounding standards
- Monitor medication therapy and provide clinical recommendations to physicians and nursing staff
- Support family health centers by filling Pyxis machines as required
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Active, clear California Pharmacist License (CA license required)
- Minimum of 2+ years inpatient pharmacy experience
- Experience with pharmacy software systems such as CSPI, Evident, and Pyxis preferred (training available if necessary)
- Previous experience working as the sole pharmacist in a clinical setting is a plus
- Willingness and ability to fulfill on-call responsibilities
