Key Qualifications:

• Active certification in Cognitive Impairment (CI) required
• Special Education teaching experience, especially with cognitive impairment or Autism Spectrum Disorder populations, highly desired
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to develop individualized strategies
• Experience supporting the behavioral and mental health needs of students
• Able to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists and support staff
• Empathetic, patient, and passionate about inclusive education

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction for an elementary-aged student (8 or 9 years old) with cognitive and behavioral needs
• Lead, plan, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) centered around student strengths
• Apply proactive behavioral and mental health support in collaboration with a dedicated team
• Develop engaging, adaptable lesson plans that foster social, emotional, and academic growth
• Communicate progress regularly with team members and families
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and collaborative planning sessions
