Contribute your expertise and passion for supporting students in dynamic school environments! Two paraprofessional opportunities are available for highly motivated professionals who are ready to enhance academic experiences and provide classroom support. These contract roles offer the chance to work closely with students, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams in welcoming educational settings near West Hartford, CT.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior paraprofessional experience in an educational setting required
  • Ability to support diverse learners and adapt instruction under teacher guidance
  • State-mandated trainings (willingness to complete required trainings upon placement)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative attitude and proactive approach to student support
  • Dependability and professionalism in maintaining confidentiality and fostering a positive learning environment

Responsibilities:

  • Middle School Role (August 27 – November 30): Academic support in mostly general education classes for middle school students (not a 1:1 assignment). Schedule is Mondays and Thursdays, 7:30 AM – 2:40 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
  • Elementary Role (August 27 – June 11): Support classroom activities and student engagement within an elementary setting (caseload and specifics to be finalized). Full-time hours, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
  • Assist teachers with instructional preparation, classroom organization, and fostering an inclusive environment.
  • Encourage positive behavior and academic participation among students.
  • Participate in required state trainings and adhere to school policies.
  • Engage in onsite interviews as part of the selection process.
