Special Education Teacher | Surprise, Arizona

Step into a dynamic contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, supporting students at the high school level for the upcoming academic year in the Surprise, AZ area. This onsite role spans from August 2026 through May 2027 and focuses on providing individualized instruction and case management for students with IEPs in a resource classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction tailored to each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
• Manage caseloads for students with IEPs, ensuring federal, state, and district compliance
• Develop and implement a complete continuum of services to address each student's needs
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all assigned students
• Collaborate within the RtI (Response to Intervention) process to support student progress
• Communicate proactively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs
• Implement and monitor behavior intervention plans and provide behavioral support as needed
• Work closely with school staff to facilitate classroom accommodations and modifications
• Establish and maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment
• Participate in other duties as assigned to support department and student success

Qualifications:

• Current Arizona Special Education Teacher Certification
• Active Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Prior experience in a resource setting or high school preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Familiarity with maintaining compliance in special education documentation
