Job Description

We are seeking a Scale Operator / Administrative Coordinator to perform scale house operations and administrative support. The role requires proficiency with spreadsheets, data analysis, and routine office functions with limited supervision. The coordinator will support weighing operations, cash balancing, reporting, and customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all scale house operations efficiently.
  • Schedule loads for shipment.
  • Weigh all incoming recyclable materials.
  • Calculate weights and process cash purchases for loose and baled recyclables.
  • Balance cash and weights daily and report per procedure to the Office Manager.
  • Maintain effective working relations with customers and waste suppliers.
  • Assist with daily, weekly, and month-end reporting.
  • Complete clerical assignments accurately and on time.
  • Compile month-end inventory and accounting reports for Corporate Accounting.
  • Select, purchase, and maintain office equipment and supplies.
  • Collect and analyze information for special projects.
  • Safeguard assets and protect confidential and restricted information.
  • Perform other similar duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in basic office functions, including answering calls, data entry, and scale operation.
  • Intermediate knowledge of accounting practices and ability to learn Ariba and Oracle.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Customer service skills to assist with accounts, payments, and issue resolution.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with recyclable materials or industrial scale operations.
  • Experience with inventory and month-end closing processes.
