Heavy Duty Trailer Technician

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Duty Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide variety of commercial trailers to ensure they meet safety standards and remain road-ready. Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair dry vans, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other commercial trailers
• Perform preventative maintenance, including brake inspections, wheel-end service, suspension repairs, lighting, and electrical system diagnostics
• Repair or replace trailer components such as axles, landing gear, doors, floors, roofs, air systems, and liftgates
• Perform welding, fabrication, and structural repairs as needed
• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure trailers meet all safety and compliance standards
• Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Work closely with fleet managers and service personnel to minimize equipment downtime

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a trailer mechanic, diesel technician, or heavy-duty equipment mechanic
• Strong knowledge of commercial trailer systems, including air brakes, suspension, electrical, and lighting systems
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred
• Experience performing DOT inspections is a plus
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment and hand tools safely and effectively
• Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus
• ASE or trailer manufacturer certifications are preferred but not required
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a physically demanding shop environment
