Position Summary

The Field Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mobile surveillance trailers, security camera systems, networking equipment, and related technologies at customer locations. This position requires extensive travel, including frequent overnight stays and out-of-town assignments as needed.

This is an outdoor, hands-on service position that requires mechanical aptitude, electrical troubleshooting skills, trailer towing experience, and the ability to work independently in a variety of environments. Technicians represent Cameras Onsite in the field and are expected to provide exceptional customer service while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

What You'll Do

• Install and configure surveillance camera systems, cellular equipment, routers, networking devices, and power systems.
• Deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mobile surveillance trailers and security units.
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections on deployed equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, power, networking, camera, and communication issues.
• Use multimeters and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve equipment problems.
• Travel throughout Texas and surrounding states to customer job sites.
• Drive company vehicles and transport surveillance trailers and equipment to deployment locations.
• Safely hook up, tow, maneuver, position, and back up trailers at customer sites.
• Complete service reports, installation documentation, and maintenance records.
• Coordinate with Operations and Technical Support teams.
• Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicles, and inventory.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and according to company standards.
• Provide professional customer service while working at active construction sites, industrial facilities, and commercial properties.

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability and willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays and extended out-of-town assignments as needed.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, humidity, and dusty job-site environments.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment weighing 75+ pounds.
• Comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and common diagnostic equipment.
• Working knowledge of multimeters and basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to safely tow, maneuver, and back up trailers.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing job requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CCTV and video surveillance systems.
• Experience with networking equipment, routers, and IP camera systems.
• Experience with cellular communication equipment.
• Experience with solar power systems, batteries, charge controllers, and related components.
• Experience troubleshooting AC and DC electrical systems.
• Construction, telecommunications, low-voltage, security, or industrial equipment experience.
• Forklift certification or equipment operation experience.
• DOT medical card or ability to obtain one.
• Experience towing and deploying large trailers and equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Lift, carry, and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work with tools for extended periods.
• Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, humidity, and dusty environments.
• Travel several days per week and stay overnight as required.
• Safely operate company vehicles and tow trailers.

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Must successfully pass a federal background check.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must maintain a professional appearance and conduct while representing the company.
• Must be able to meet customer site access requirements, which may include additional background screenings, safety training, or drug testing as required by the customer.

Additional Position Information

A company vehicle will be provided for use during working hours when traveling to installations, service calls, and customer locations. Technicians are responsible for maintaining a safe driving record and operating company vehicles in accordance with company policies.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, traveling, solving technical problems, and working independently. Candidates must be comfortable with overnight travel, trailer towing, hands-on troubleshooting, and working in active construction and industrial environments.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening, federal background check, verification of employment eligibility, and verification of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
