HVAC Sheet Metal Duct Fabricator / Plasma Table Operator

This is a shop fabrication position for an individual who understands commercial HVAC ductwork and can take drawings/specifications and turn them into accurately fabricated duct systems.

Responsibilities

-Read and interpret mechanical plans, shop drawings, and duct layouts

-Program and operate CNC plasma cutting tables (enter duct/fitting dimensions and specs)

-Fabricate commercial HVAC ductwork and fittings, including:

-Straight duct (square/rectangular)

-Transitions, offsets, elbows, reducers, plenums, curb adapters, and specialty fittings

-Operate sheet metal equipment (brakes, shears, rollers, Pittsburgh machines, lockformers, etc.)

-Assemble, verify, and prepare ductwork for field installation

-Ensure accuracy of dimensions and finished components before release

-Maintain production efficiency while minimizing material waste

-Keep fabrication area organized and equipment properly maintained

-Coordinate with project managers and field supervisors as needed

Required Experience

-Commercial HVAC sheet metal fabrication experience required

-Strong understanding of duct layout, fabrication methods, and shop drawings

-Ability to read a tape measure and perform accurate sheet metal calculations

-Experience reading and working from mechanical drawings and duct dimensions

-Plasma table experience strongly preferred (programming and operation)

-Familiarity with HVAC duct fabrication software is a plus

-Knowledge of SMACNA standards preferred

-Ability to work independently, stay organized, and meet production schedules

-Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Compensation & Benefits

-Hourly Wage: $30+ per hour (based on experience and skill level)

We are a heating, cooling & refrigeration service & installation company. We mostly work at new commercial construction locations in MS, TN & AR. We install hvac equipment, ducting, gas piping, build custom walk-in-cooler & freezers. We also are residential service providers and offer preventative maintenance.
