Regional OTR CDL Class A Step Deck Driver

We are hiring experienced CDL Class A drivers for a Regional OTR position operating a 53’ Step Deck trailer with ramps.

We are looking for a dependable, safety-focused driver who has strong equipment-handling skills and understands the responsibilities of hauling freight on a step deck. This position is ideal for an experienced driver who is comfortable securing and transporting a variety of equipment and oversized/heavy freight.

Position

• Regional OTR — CDL Class A
• 53’ Step Deck Trailer with Ramps
• Regional/OTR routes
• We try to get drivers home every weekend
• Weekly pay
• Average weekly earning potential: $2,500–$3,500, based on loads and performance

Driver Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 8 tractor and 53’ step deck trailer
• Properly load, secure, transport and unload freight
• Safely operate and position trailer ramps
• Know how to safely load and unload equipment
• Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on tractor and trailer
• Inspect chains, binders, straps, tarps, ramps, tires, lights and other securement equipment
• Properly secure equipment and freight using chains, binders, straps and other approved securement methods
• Tarp freight when required
• Verify freight, dimensions, weight and securement before departing
• Complete required paperwork, bills of lading and delivery documents
• Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, shippers and receivers
• Follow all DOT, FMCSA and company safety regulations
• Maintain accurate logs and required electronic documentation
• Report equipment problems, accidents, cargo damage or safety concerns immediately
• Keep the truck and trailer clean and in safe operating condition
• Safely operate in varying weather, traffic and road conditions
• Conduct yourself professionally while representing AAA Freight Movers
• Follow assigned routes and dispatch instructions
• Protect company equipment and customer freight

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 3 years of CDL driving experience
• Clean MVR required
• Verifiable driving history
• Experience pulling a step deck/flatbed trailer
• Must be comfortable operating a 53’ step deck with ramps
• Must know how to safely load and unload equipment
• Must understand proper cargo securement
• Must be able to perform DOT-required pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Must be able to chain, strap and secure freight properly
• Must be dependable, punctual and safety-minded
• Must be able to pass required DOT physical and drug screening
• Must be able to legally operate interstate
• Must be willing to travel regionally/OTR as required
