Shop Manager
Job Description
We are a growing custom woodshop based in West Palm Beach, Florida. We design and build handcrafted, CNC'd and lasered products — tournament gifts, member awards, pro shop merchandise, and on-course pieces for many of the top golf and country clubs in the world. We are investing in the leadership we need to scale thoughtfully.
We are hiring a Shop Manager who will own production, inventory, fulfillment, and logistics, lead a team of five shop staff and growing, and contribute hands-on craft work when the schedule or quality demands it.
Duties
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase capacity, quality, or margin, and create and maintain build sheets for every product made in the shop
- Create and implement processes and procedures to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and to build a framework to allow the company to continue to scale.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee production to meet customer deadlines and quality standards
- Manage inventory across material stock, supplies, shipping materials, and tooling using spreadsheets and other digital tools
- Coordinate shipping and order fulfillment from production through delivery. This includes packing large custom orders for safe and economical shipping
- Lead and develop the shop team — hiring, training, scheduling, and day-to-day supervision
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized shop environment
- Work alongside the team on production when needed, including detailed craft work
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives by leveraging manufacturing management systems, supply chain analytics, and AI tools to identify opportunities for efficiency gains
- Partner with ownership on capacity planning, hiring decisions, and operational strategy
- Promote a culture of lean management and operational excellence through ongoing training and development programs.
Qualifications
- Five or more years of leadership experience in a shop environment — cabinet shop, custom furniture, millwork, or comparable
- Demonstrated management or shop lead experience running production and leading a team
- Strong operational discipline: organized, systems-minded, and accountable for inventory, shipping, and schedule
- Comfortable working hands-on alongside the team in a shop environment
- Mechanical knowledge related to woodworking machinery, assembly processes, and plant equipment maintenance.
- Excellent team leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster cross-functional collaboration.
- Effective communication skills necessary for coordinating with supply chain partners, vendors, and internal teams.
- Familiarity with quality control standards and safety regulations applicable to manufacturing operations.
Join us as our Shop Manager to lead innovative projects that combine craftsmanship with cutting-edge manufacturing practices.
