- Assist the lead teacher with the daily care, supervision, education, and development of preschool children.
- Assist in creating and preparing age-appropriate lesson plans and learning activities.
- Help teach and educate children through engaging, hands-on, and age-appropriate activities.
- Assist with circle time, story time, arts and crafts, music, educational activities, and classroom projects.
- Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development.
- Encourage children's curiosity, creativity, independence, and love of learning.
- Actively supervise children at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
- Support children during classroom activities, playtime, meals, nap time, and outdoor activities.
- Assist children with daily routines, including handwashing, meals, toileting, and transitions.
- Assist with diaper changes and other personal care needs while maintaining proper hygiene, safety, and dignity for each child.
- Encourage positive behavior and use a calm, gentle, patient, and respectful approach with children.
- Help prepare, organize, and clean up classroom materials and learning areas.
- Work closely with the lead teacher and other staff members to provide consistent care and education.
- Follow all preschool policies, health and safety procedures, and California childcare licensing requirements.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with teachers, staff, children, and families.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children and families.
A Preschool teacher is responsible for leading classroom activities of young children between ages of 2 to 6 years old. Duties include actively engaging with children to foster a positive and healthy environment. Preschool teachers do require having 6 units of early child development courses. Must have finger print clearance.
