Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing day-to-day accounting functions, including integrating finance operations, forecasting and budgeting, handling tax matters, preparing financial reports, overseeing administration of benefits, and ensuring organizational financial stability.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Work in close collaboration with the COO and CEO to ensure the ongoing financial stability of the Company

· Oversee day-to-day accounting functions including accounts receivables and accounts payables

· Monitor cash accounts, planning invoice payments to ensure available funds for the most urgent or consequential financial responsibilities of the company

· Ensure timely payment of all tax liabilities with 100% compliance with deadlines and relevant regulations

· Advise company executives on the best strategies for cash and financial planning, then implement the strategies, once approved

· Prepare and submit all financial reports mandated by law, needed for audits, required by agreements with vendors, or requested by customers (and approved by the executive team)

· Ensure compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, federal/state wage and hour rules, applicable benefits regulations, and company policies

· Collaborate closely with the Repair Operations Manager and Project Estimator to ensure financial viability/profitability of current and future projects

· Perform basic payroll and benefits management duties during absences of HR staff

· Prepare financial reports as required by the COO and CEO

· Prepare budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans

· Maintain positive relationships with customers and suppliers

· Contact, by phone, customers’ accounts payables departments to request payments, when necessary

· Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls

· Immediately report to the COO and CEO any concerns about the Company’s ability to meet its financial obligations or to achieve financial goals

· Perform month-end and year-end closes in timely manner

· Maintain confidentiality in regards to all matters relating to the company’s finances, employees’ benefits elections, and payroll

· Identify and recommend updates to accounting/payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.

· Use Microsoft Teams to communicate digitally with other members of the administrative team

Qualifications:

· Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities

· 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, five of which must include accounting responsibilities

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

· Knowledge of aviation industry practices big bonus, but not required

Skills & Knowledge:

· Superior organization skills and attention to detail

· Dedication to completing projects in a timely manner

· Strong knowledge of accounting practices, finance law, relevant financial regulations, and payroll laws

· Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments

· Strong proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software

· Effective problem-solving skills

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks, and to meet deadlines. Ability to be self-starting and proactive

· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, and the general public, including those from culturally diverse backgrounds, the elderly, persons with disabilities, and/or other vulnerable populations

· Excellent proficiency with Office 365, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams

Work Environment:

This position performs work in a climate-controlled environment. There may be occasional noise from the shop or aircraft flying to/from/over the airport.
