Job Description

Title: Electrical Panel Builder II (Industrial Control Panels) – Electrical Panel Builder

Location: Auburn Hills, MI (On-site)

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM (Summer Hours)

Pay: $25.00/hour

Summary

Now hiring an Electrical Panel Builder for a Panel Builder II-level role building custom industrial control panels. This Electrical Panel Builder position is for experienced panel builders who can independently read industrial control panel electrical schematics and build unique panels from prints and work instructions—this is not circuit board or wire harness production. If you have strong panel layout, wiring/termination skills, and you can work independently while maintaining quality and safety, this is a strong opportunity with steady weekday hours.

Responsibilities

  • Independently interpret electrical schematics, prints, and work instructions for industrial control panels
  • Lay out panel backplates/enclosures and perform full panel assembly to customer specifications
  • Install components (DIN rail, terminal blocks, power supplies, relays, contactors, drives/controls as applicable) and complete wiring/terminations per schematic
  • Identify layout, print, or material discrepancies and escalate to the Lead for resolution
  • Accurately use measurement tools (tape measure, T-square, scale) to support layout and fitment
  • Use hand and power tools safely; apply torque specs using a torque wrench as required
  • Use cranes, rigging, or forklifts when trained/authorized and when the build requires it
  • Support field installs and service calls when needed
  • Maintain quality standards, safety compliance, and strong housekeeping/5S in the build area

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • 3+ years of related experience in electrical panel building, control panel wiring, industrial electrical assembly, or machine panel assembly (required)
  • Experience reading and building from industrial control panel electrical schematics (strongly preferred)
  • Ability to work independently, follow build documentation, and communicate issues clearly
  • Strong attention to detail: labeling, wire routing, termination accuracy, and final build quality
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and measurement equipment in a production environment
  • Ability to safely use cranes/rigging/forklifts as required (preferred)
