Client Service Team Lead
We are seeking an experienced Client Service Team Lead to join our growing Client Service Department. This position is responsible for the direct supervision, coaching, and development of a team of Advisor Support Associates (ASA) while ensuring exceptional service delivery to our advisors and clients.
The Client Service Team Lead serves as the first point of management for their assigned team, balancing people management with operational oversight and advisor support. This individual will provide daily guidance, oversee workload distribution, coordinate coverage, maintain service quality, and serve as the primary escalation point for advisors and team concerns.
In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Client Service Team Lead provides backup support for assigned advisor teams, assists with onboarding and training initiatives, and partners closely with the Department Head to drive operational consistency, employee development, and continuous process improvement.
This position is full-time and based in our Scottsdale office.
Duties include, but not limited to:
Leadership & Team Management
- Directly supervise and manage an assigned team of Advisor Support Associates (ASA).
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings focused on coaching, development, accountability, and career growth.
- Provide ongoing performance coaching and timely feedback to team members.
- Complete performance evaluations and provide recommendations regarding promotions, opportunities, and corrective action.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
Operations & Workflow Management
- Oversee daily workflow, task management, and workload balancing across assigned team members.
- Coordinate PTO schedules and ensure appropriate backup coverage is maintained.
- Serve as the first point of escalation for team members, advisors, and client service issues.
- Monitor team capacity and proactively identify workload concerns or resource needs.
- Escalate operational risks, staffing concerns, and capacity challenges to the Department Head.
Advisor & Client Service Support
- Build strong relationships with assigned advisors while serving as the primary leadership contact for service-related concerns.
- Provide primary backup support for assigned advisor teams during planned and unplanned absences.
- Ensure service standards, response times, and client experience expectations are consistently met.
- Assist with resolving complex client service situations requiring leadership involvement.
Quality & Process Management
- Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with firm standards.
- Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), department resources, and process documentation.
- Oversee Redtail CRM management, documentation standards, and data integrity across assigned teams.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and recommend process enhancements.
Recruiting & Department Initiatives
- Participate in recruiting efforts, candidate interviews, and hiring recommendations.
- Support departmental projects, technology implementations, and operational initiatives.
- Collaborate with leadership to improve department efficiency, service consistency, and employee engagement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a wealth management, advisory, or brokerage environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership, supervisory, mentoring, or team lead experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and motivate team members.
- Strong understanding of wealth management operations and client service best practices.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Compensation & Benefits
- Full-time salaried position; compensation based on experience, leadership background, and licensing.
- Base salary plus monthly achievement-based bonuses.
