Warehouse Associate and Clerical Associate
Job Description
ProTex Towels is seeking an experienced, organized, conscientious and responsible individual who is looking for an opportunity to grow professionally, build a career and be a part of a successful company based in Buffalo for over 40 years. Two part-time positions with flexible schedule are currently available.
Part-Time position – Starting Immediately
- Hours: Flexible, based on need, at 16-30 hours per week. The ideal candidate’s availability is 3-5 days a week during normal business hours, with ability to start as early as 8:30a on some days. The greater the availability, the greater number of hours you could be scheduled.
- On-site position in Buffalo, at Elmwood and Hertel
Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting Hourly Rate: $18-$20 per hour based on experience, non-commission
- A $1000 Roster bonus is earned at 500 hours worked AND at 1000 hours worked.
- We are a university student-friendly company. We prioritize the school-related scheduling needs of our associates who are students.
- We can structure as a paid internship, if needed.
- 40 hours of paid time off offered yearly
- 401k eligibility after 1 year of employment, with qualifying number of hours worked
- Free on-site parking
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Offering excellent customer service
- Assist on long-term projects and business development
- Daily & Periodic Responsibilities
- Warehouse Duties
- Shipping and receiving
- Unloading containers of incoming product
- Pulling, packing and labeling outgoing orders
- Keeping warehouse clean and organized
- Physical inventory counts
- Clerical Duties
- Prepare shipping documents for all outgoing orders
- Complete invoices in accounting software
- Receiving, evaluating, organizing samples
- Communicating effectively using email, phone calls and other tools in working with colleagues, vendors, customers, suppliers
- Keeping workplace organized and clean.
- Seasonal Duties (May – September)
- Assist with delivery, set-up, takedown and removal of inflatables, tents, tables, etc to / from customer locations
- Inspect and clean rental equipment
- Assist in packing and organizing equipment in warehouse
Required Experience and Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Comfortable working in a small business environment while working with and supporting a large team primarily via email and telephone.
- A desire to work in a team environment.
- Able to handle some challenging and routine work independently
- MS Office and similar, MS Windows OS
- Must be able to regularly lift 50+ lb
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Customer service and warehouse experience
- Light IT experience, knowledge, ability to troubleshoot
- Project experience, working in a group environment
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Some college or university education preferred
