Salary: $45,000 annually

Caseload: 25–30 Family Child Care Providers
Travel: Limited local travel for occasional provider visits, meetings, trainings, and Network activities

Position Overview

B’Above Worldwide Institute, in partnership with the New York City Public Schools Division of Early Childhood Education, is seeking a caring, organized, and dependable Bilingual Spanish FCCN Family Worker to join our Family Child Care Network team.

The Family Worker supports approximately 25–30 Family Child Care providers and their enrolled families with recruitment, enrollment, family engagement, attendance, documentation, assessments, and connections to community resources.

This is primarily an office based position working between our Bronx and Brooklyn offices, with limited local travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Family Services and Enrollment

  • Recruit, enroll, and support families through registration, intake, orientation, assessment, and ongoing family services.
  • Assist families with NYC Public Schools early childhood registration and enrollment requirements, including 3-K and other applicable programs.
  • Complete required family assessments, including Family Strengths Assessments, nutrition assessments, child profiles, and other required documentation.
  • Develop individualized family plans based on family strengths, needs, and goals.
  • Maintain regular communication and follow up with enrolled families.
  • Support families with recertifications, medical documentation, and other ongoing program requirements.
  • Collect, review, organize, and upload required family and enrollment documentation into OneDrive and other required systems.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential family records and documentation.

Caseload and Provider Support

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 25–30 affiliated Family Child Care providers and their enrolled families.
  • Maintain regular communication with assigned providers regarding enrollment, attendance, family engagement, documentation, and family needs.
  • Support providers with family communication and engagement.
  • Collaborate with providers and Network staff to identify family needs and coordinate appropriate support and resources.
  • Conduct occasional provider visits when needed.

Attendance, Census and Documentation

  • Track enrollment, placement, discharge, attendance, and census information for assigned programs.
  • Help maintain enrollment and program census.
  • Follow up on attendance concerns and missing or incomplete documentation.
  • Track required family documentation and ensure information is submitted within required timelines.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, assessments, enrollment records, and monthly updates.
  • Update family information in Network databases and required NYC Public Schools systems.
  • Assist with ongoing outreach, recruitment, enrollment, and administrative responsibilities.

Family Engagement and Community Resources

  • Coordinate family engagement workshops, special events, meetings, and activities.
  • Connect families with resources including special education, mental health services, housing assistance, food resources, health services, and other community supports.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations serving young children and families.
  • Help create and regularly update the Network's Community Partner Resource Guide.
  • Encourage family participation in Network programs, workshops, and events.

Team Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Family Workers, Education Specialists, Monitoring Specialists, enrollment staff, and Network leadership.
  • Participate in regular Network staff meetings.
  • Participate in required professional development and NYC Public Schools professional learning.
  • Support the mission, vision, policies, and procedures of B’Above Worldwide Institute.
  • Complete other related responsibilities as assigned by the Network Director.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Human Services, Family Services, Child Development, or a related field OR a CDA or FDC credential required.
  • Experience working with families with young children required.
  • 2 years of experience in early childhood education, family services, social services, Family Child Care, or a related setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of Family Child Care and early childhood programs preferred.
  • Experience with family recruitment, enrollment, family engagement, or community resource referrals preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to independently manage a caseload of 25–30 providers and their enrolled families.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask, follow through, and meet required deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, OneDrive, and electronic databases.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work between the Bronx and Brooklyn offices as needed.
  • Ability to complete limited local travel for occasional provider visits, meetings, trainings, and Network activities.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.

Background Clearance Requirements

Employment is contingent upon successfully completing and maintaining all required New York City Public Schools/DOE and DOHMH background checks, fingerprinting, clearances, and other required screenings.

The ideal candidate is warm, organized, dependable, and comfortable balancing direct family support with detailed administrative responsibilities.

You should be comfortable helping families through enrollment, completing assessments, following up on documentation, monitoring attendance and census, connecting families to resources, communicating with providers, and independently managing a caseload of 25–30 providers.
