P&L Landscaping is looking for a skilled Shop Mechanic to keep our landscaping equipment, trailers, tools, and company vehicles safe, reliable, and ready for work.
Our crews depend on their equipment every day, making this an important position within our operation.
If you have experience working on small engines, landscaping equipment, powersports equipment, construction equipment, farm equipment, or fleet vehicles, your skills may be a great fit.
What You'll Work On
Equipment may include:
- Commercial mowers
- Trimmers and blowers
- Edgers
- Chainsaws
- 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines
- Landscape and construction equipment
- Trailers
- Company trucks and vehicles
- Other tools and equipment used by our field crews
What You'll Do
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems
- Repair and maintain small engines and landscape equipment
- Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance
- Maintain equipment service records
- Track maintenance schedules
- Order parts and help manage parts inventory
- Inspect equipment for safety and reliability
- Set up and prepare newly purchased equipment
- Perform occasional field repairs and breakdown assistance
- Identify and report equipment damage or safety concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of mechanic or equipment repair experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines
- Mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
- Ability to read equipment manuals and schematics
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
- Dependable and organized
- Welding or fabrication experience is a plus
