Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Full or Part-Time Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for patient care and oral health, with comprehensive knowledge of dental procedures and hygiene practices. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health, providing preventive care, and supporting overall patient well-being through thorough assessments and compassionate treatment. Your expertise will contribute to creating a welcoming environment that prioritizes patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque, tartar, and stains effectively.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
  • Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality.
  • Monitor vital signs before, during, and after treatments to ensure patient safety throughout procedures.
  • Support infection control standards by practicing aseptic techniques and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) Eaglesoft for documentation and scheduling purposes.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless patient care delivery, including chairside assisting when necessary.

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is not required.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding enhances the quality of documentation review and billing processes.
  • Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred but not mandatory; candidates should be comfortable working with children when needed.
  • Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Eaglesoft is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge relevant to oral health care.
