Medical Device Inspector II – 1st Shift
Our client, a global leader in the medical device industry, has an immediate opening for a Medical Device Inspector II on 1st shift. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity within a highly collaborative, quality-focused manufacturing environment.
The Medical Device Inspector II will perform dimensional, visual, and electrical inspections of components, subassemblies, and finished medical device systems throughout the manufacturing process. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret technical drawings and inspection documentation, and a commitment to maintaining strict quality and regulatory standards.

Position Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections to blueprints using gauges and other precision inspection equipment.
- Inspect incoming materials, components, subassemblies, and finished products.
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and verify inspection data, including applicable statistical analysis.
- Read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing drawings, diagrams, wire cards, inspection guide sheets, and work instructions.
- Conduct dimensional and electrical inspections of subassemblies and final system assemblies.
- Approve or reject in-process and finished assemblies based on established specifications and quality requirements.
- Review, analyze, and archive Device History Records (DHRs) in paper and electronic formats in accordance with GMP/GDP requirements.
- Complete computer and ERP system transactions associated with inspections, product disposition, and release activities.
- Identify, segregate, and quarantine nonconforming materials and complete required documentation.
- Initiate quarantine tickets and nonconformance reports as necessary.
- Perform finished-product release and disposition activities within the ERP system.
- Support inspection team KPIs and departmental quality objectives.
- Work to production forecasts, schedules, and changing business requirements.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure documentation is complete and compliant.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience performing inspection within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with dimensional and/or visual inspection using gauges and precision inspection equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing drawings, diagrams, and inspection instructions.
- Ability to perform detailed inspection work using a microscope for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills.
- Ability to identify and properly document nonconforming materials or assemblies.
- Comfortable working with computer-based inspection and ERP systems.
- Quick learner who is customer-focused, accountable, and able to operate with a sense of urgency.
- Experience in medical device or another regulated manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
