Position Details
- Location: York, PA
- School District: Central York School District
- Pay: $20.00 per hour
- Position Type: Contract
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM
- Contract Dates: August 16, 2026 through June 2, 2027
- Hours: 35 hours per week
- Multiple openings available
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized or small-group support to students throughout the school day.
- Assist students with academic, behavioral, and daily living needs as directed by school staff.
- Implement behavior support plans and positive reinforcement strategies.
- Support classroom instruction under the direction of teachers and special education staff.
- Monitor student safety and well-being.
- Maintain accurate, confidential student documentation.
- Assist students with the appropriate use of classroom materials and equipment.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to promote student success.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 48 college credits, an Associate's degree, or higher.
- Must meet Pennsylvania competency requirements (Special Education Credential of Competency or CAPE assessment).
- Current Pennsylvania Criminal History, Child Abuse, and FBI clearances.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (if required by assignment).
- Willingness to complete 20 hours of annual professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting students with autism, behavioral needs, or other special education populations.
- Experience working in school or classroom settings.
- Strong communication, patience, flexibility, and teamwork skills.
