Job Description

About Us

At KT Counseling Center, we believe that therapists do their best work when they are supported, respected, and free from administrative burnout. We are a growing private practice in Stevens Point, WI, dedicated to providing high-quality care to our community. We handle the business side of the practice so you can focus entirely on what you do best: helping your clients heal and thrive.

Why Work With Us?

  • A Truly Collaborative & Supportive Culture: We are actively building a healthy team environment where clinicians feel respected and protected from burnout. We value kindness, professionalism, accountability, and direct communication. You will be part of a positive workplace that encourages you to care deeply for your clients while prioritizing your own well-being and supporting your fellow therapists.
  • True Flexibility (Hybrid or On-Site): You control your schedule and your setting. You have the freedom to work from home a couple of days a week if you want, or you can choose to work fully in person.
  • Complete Administrative Support: We handle all credentialing, billing, marketing, and initial intake scheduling. You will never have to chase down an insurance payment.
  • Clinical Autonomy: We trust your clinical judgment. You have the freedom to build a caseload that aligns with your clinical interests and specialties.
  • Transparent, Revenue-Based Pay: You deserve to be rewarded for the hours you put in. Our highly competitive fee-split model ensures that your compensation directly reflects your hard work, allowing you to maximize your take-home pay while we handle the overhead.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, couples, and/or family therapy sessions incorporating evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or psychodynamic therapy.
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-10 coding standards to determine client needs and treatment plans.
  • Utilize telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions when appropriate, maintaining HIPAA compliance and clinical ethical guidelines.
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute mental health emergencies effectively while ensuring client safety and stability.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation and patient data collection using our electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Manage your caseload and schedule in a way that promotes your own healthy work-life balance.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) with current, unrestricted Wisconsin state licensure.
  • Proven experience providing psychotherapy across diverse settings such as outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, or community health programs.
  • Familiarity with crisis management protocols and behavior management techniques for individuals with co-occurring disorders or trauma histories.
  • Experience utilizing EMR/EHR systems for clinical documentation is essential.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines to ensure confidentiality and professional integrity.
  • Ability to work independently while being a collaborative part of our practice environment.
