Construction Estimator

We're looking for a motivated Construction Estimator to join our Pre-Construction team. Whether you're an experienced estimator or an emerging construction professional ready to grow, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

In this role, you'll prepare project estimates and budgets, perform quantity takeoffs, coordinate subcontractor bids, collaborate with clients and design teams, identify value engineering opportunities, and help set projects up for success before construction begins.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, collaborative, and passionate about construction. Experience with commercial estimating, construction documents, Microsoft Excel, and strong communication skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

Estimating & Pre-Construction

• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to understand project scope and construction requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor work.
• Develop conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction document estimates.
• Prepare accurate project budgets incorporating current market conditions, historical data, and project-specific requirements.
• Analyze construction methods, materials, and sequencing to develop comprehensive estimates.
• Maintain organized estimating documentation and project files.

Bid Management & Subcontractor Coordination

• Prepare and distribute bid invitations and requests for quotations.
• Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive and complete pricing.
• Review subcontractor proposals for scope alignment, completeness, exclusions, and overall value.
• Assist in subcontractor selection and bid leveling.
• Maintain strong relationships with industry partners.

Client & Team Collaboration

• Participate in project meetings with owners, architects, engineers, and internal teams.
• Provide value engineering recommendations to improve project outcomes while maintaining quality and design intent.
• Communicate project assumptions, opportunities, and risks clearly and effectively.
• Support a smooth transition from pre-construction into construction operations.

Risk Management & Problem Solving

• Review contract documents to identify potential scope gaps, risks, and constructability concerns.
• Assist with developing risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
• Apply critical thinking and creativity to solve challenges throughout the estimating process.
