Emergency Vehicle Technician

Scope of Work: Wiring and installing analog and digital two-way radios, laptops, partitions, radio consoles, docking stations, light bars, sound systems, and other electronics in various emergency vehicles.

Responsibilities:

• Install and remove Emergency Lighting, Cages, Camera Systems, Consoles, Radios, etc
• Provide basic maintenance of public safety equipment, including testing and repairing various equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
• Ensure a high level of customer service, satisfaction, and communication

Requirements:

• Experience with 12 Volt vehicle wiring systems preferred
• Must have mechanical ability/experience
• Ability to pass a drug test and background check
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must possess excellent communication and listening skills
• Must have good organizational and time management skills
• Must possess a strong attention to detail

Skills/Knowledge

• Ability to use basic hand and power tools
• Knowledge, skills, and mechanical aptitude regarding removal and replacement of automotive components
• Ability to install, inspect, and service a multitude of electronics and vehicle equipment
• Knowledge and skill with specific wire terminals, connectors and crimping tools
• Basic computer knowledge
