Position Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

The Head of School is responsible for providing spiritual, academic, and operational leadership

to ensure the effective daily operation of Jewell School. This role requires a passionate leader

whose Christian faith deeply informs their approach to fostering a safe, nurturing, and

academically rigorous environment, integrating Biblical values thoughtfully into every aspect of

school life for the holistic development of students, staff, and families.

Key Responsibilities:

%CF; Spiritual Leadership:

%CB; Model a Christ-centered life, demonstrating spiritual maturity, integrity, and servant

leadership.

%CB; Thoughtfully promote and integrate Christian principles, fostering an environment

where faith inspires excellence and compassion in all aspects of school life.

%CB; Lead school-wide devotions, prayer meetings, and chapel services, emphasizing

spiritual growth and a deep understanding of God's word.

%CF; Academic Leadership:

%CB; Oversee curriculum development to ensure alignment with both state standards and

a robust Christian educational philosophy, fostering critical thinking and intellectual

curiosity.

%CB; Support teachers in instructional best practices and professional development,

nurturing a culture of continuous improvement in an atmosphere of grace.

%CB; Monitor and evaluate academic performance, implementing data-driven strategies for

continuous improvement while celebrating individual student growth.

%CB; Foster a culture of academic excellence anchored in Christian virtues, encouraging

students to pursue truth and knowledge for God's glory.

%CF; Administrative Leadership:

o Encourage and facilitate team building and create an environment of unity amongst

all staff.

o Make sound decisions involving faculty and students in various situational matters

as needed

o Facilitate and discern the varied differences between belief systems and religions of

some the diverse families and students in our school—ensuring all students and

staff are treated equally and justly.

%CB; Manage school operations, including budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and facilities,

with wisdom, integrity, and stewardship.

%CB; Lead and supervise teaching and support staff, including hiring, evaluations, and

conflict resolution, cultivating a collaborative and supportive professional

community.%CB; Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, safety regulations, and school

policies, upholding high standards of governance and care.

%CB; Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, staff, students, and the school

board, fostering transparency and strong partnerships.

%CB; Oversee the development and execution of engaging school tours for prospective

families to support enrollment efforts.

%CF; Community Engagement:

%CB; Build strong, authentic relationships with families, churches, and the broader

Christian community, reflecting Christ's love and unity.

%CB; Promote the school through marketing, outreach, and enrollment efforts, articulating

Jewell School's distinct mission and values.

%CB; Act as a faithful representative of the school’s mission and vision in public settings,

embodying the school's commitment to Christian education.

Qualifications:

%CF; A committed Christian with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, actively involved in a

local church, and demonstrating a mature walk of faith.

%CF; Experience in leadership roles, implementing communication, and organizational skills,

with an emphasis on effective team building.

%CF; Demonstrated knowledge of Christian education philosophy, school governance, and best

practices in faith-based learning environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

%CF; Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.

%CF; Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or Administration.

%CF; Minimum 3–5 years of progressive teaching or administrative experience in a Christian or

private school setting, demonstrating effective leadership and educational insight.

%CF; ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) certification or willingness to obtain.

%CF; Experience with school accreditation processes, demonstrating a commitment to

continuous improvement and accountability.

%CF; Familiarity with diverse Christian curriculum programs and effective integration strategies

that enhance student learning and spiritual formation.
