Operations Manager (Demolition)

Position Overview

The Demolition Operations Manager directs daily field operations, heavy equipment allocation, and crew scheduling. This role requires strict enforcement of safety protocols while maintaining project timelines and budgets. The ideal candidate brings extensive field leadership experience to maximize productivity across multiple job sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Crew Leadership: Manage, schedule, and mentor demolition field crews and site supervisors.
• Site Safety: Enforce OSHA, EPA, and local hazardous material regulations across all active projects.
• Asset Allocation: Coordinate the deployment, transport, and maintenance of heavy machinery and specialized tools.
• Project Execution: Oversee site preparation, structural teardowns, asset recovery, and waste debris disposal.
• Budget Control: Monitor labor costs, equipment expenses, and operational timelines to ensure project profitability.
• Client Relations: Serve as the primary operational contact for general contractors, inspectors, and clients.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of direct experience managing crews in demolition or heavy civil construction.
• Technical Skill: Deep knowledge of structural demolition methods, rigging, and hazardous material abatement.
• Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required; hazardous materials (HAZWOPER) certification preferred.
• Equipment Mastery: Familiarity with high-reach excavators, shears, hammers, crushers, and loaders.
• Communication: Strong leadership skills with the ability to resolve field conflicts quickly and decisively.
• Logistics: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently to local job sites.
