Johnson-Laux Construction, a Commercial General Contracting Company is seeking an HR Administrator/Manager to become part of our team. You will be responsible for managing all HR related duties and activities for our organization.

This position, located in Winter Garden, FL, however, you will be responsible for all of our multi-state Offices. (Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and operations in TX, LA, MD, KY, and a few other States.

The Human Resource Generalist will be responsible for performing HR-Related duties on a professional level supporting organizational goals. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, employee development, benefits administration, training, onboarding, employment law compliance, payroll, safety, etc.

Requirements/Qualifications & Responsibilities:

  • A minimum of 5 years of HR generalist experience is required. Experience in a construction company is highly preferred.
  • Implement Company culture, values and policies
  • Develop workforce strategies to recruit and develop qualified candidates
  • Advocate for employee retention and development
  • Oversee data entry and maintenance of employee records
  • Participate in the investigation and guidance for disciplinary actions
  • On-boarding all new hires and assist new employees with new hire paperwork.
  • Develop and Manage Employee Development Program
  • Manage and Coordinate Annual Performance Evaluations
  • Manage and Coordinate Employee Training Programs
  • Assist in the Development of an internal HR Employee Portal
  • Manage Annual Employee Benefits Open enrollment and rollout
  • Manage and Coordinate Employee Events
  • Perform terminations.
  • Process all FMLA and workers compensation leaves, issues and claims.
  • Assist in the investigation of employee issues raised by managers and/or employee complaints and/or issues and prepare necessary documentation. Facilitate actions to resolve the complaints and/or issues.
  • Experience with processing applicants through the complete recruiting lifecycle; i.e. orientation and all new hire paperwork.
  • Interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to actively engage with the surrounding communities
  • Ability to travel, as needed, to other Johnson-Laux sites.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Detail oriented, with ability to handle a fast pace environment and multi-tasking, and quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment and benefit laws, regulations, and practices.
  • Experience in conflict resolution.
  • Strong Leadership qualities.
  • Ability to build rapport with all employees
