STARTNG WAGES: $24.00 - $32.00/HR*

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Sushi Chef / Prep to join our dynamic culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi ingredients for traditional Japanese dishes, ensuring every preparation meets our standards of freshness, quality and method . Your input will contribute to creating an authentic dining experience that delights our guests. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards, all while earning the opportunity to grow with the company.

Duties: In addition to earning and preparing ingredients for a world-class sushi experience, you will also:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, following food safety sanitizing procedures at all times
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, rice cookers, refrigeration units, and slicing tools safely and efficiently
  • Handle food preparation tasks including poaching, braising, grilling, and food production to support overall kitchen operations
  • Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed to maintain quality and safety standards during meal prep and service
  • Support the culinary team in high-volume production environments, managing multiple orders with speed and accuracy

Skills: We are certainly willing to train the right candidate, and any experience listed below would be a great asset to our operation:

  • Proven experience in dietary aide roles or similar dietary department positions with knowledge of food safety management
  • Rudimentary knife skills with the ability to perform precise cuts for sushi ingredients
  • Experience in fine dining or restaurant settings with a focus on Japanese cuisine or sushi preparation
  • Knowledge of food industry standards including food handling, sanitation procedures, and operating kitchen equipment
  • Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food service operations
  • Ability to work efficiently in high-volume production environments while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent food safety awareness with a commitment to sanitizing procedures and proper food handling practices
