Job Description
SEASONAL SALES & PROJECT SUPPORT
Independent Contractor Opportunity | Full-Time & Part-Time
Herbs Fit Life | Bryant Park Winter Village + Union Square Holiday Market, NYC
Seasonal Engagement: November 1, 2026 – January 2, 2027
Compensation: $20/hour
Herbs Fit Life is seeking experienced, highly reliable, professional, and self-motivated individuals to provide seasonal sales, retail, and project support during our busiest time of year at two of New York City's premier holiday markets: Bryant Park Winter Village and Union Square Holiday Market.
Both full-time and part-time independent contractor opportunities are available.
This opportunity is best suited for someone with a strong entrepreneurial mindset who is comfortable working independently, taking initiative, solving problems, and representing a small business professionally in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
ABOUT HERBS FIT LIFE
Herbs Fit Life is a New York-based herbal wellness and handcrafted body-care company operated as a single-member LLC.
Unlike a traditional retail company, Herbs Fit Life is a vertically integrated small business. Our products are developed and produced in-house in small batches, with many of the herbs used in our formulations grown and harvested by the owner. Products are formulated, made, packaged, labeled, merchandised, and brought directly to our customers through seasonal markets and online sales.
Our collection includes handcrafted herbal wellness products, botanical skincare, body care, teas, balms, and other plant-based goods.
Because Herbs Fit Life is owner-operated, seasonal contractors become an important part of keeping the business running smoothly during the holiday season. We are looking for capable, experienced professionals who understand the responsibility that comes with representing an established small business during its busiest months.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Reliability is essential for this opportunity.
Holiday markets are demanding, fast-moving environments, and we need individuals who take commitments seriously. Contractors should arrive prepared, communicate professionally, follow through on agreed-upon responsibilities, and be comfortable handling tasks without constant supervision.
Strong candidates will have:
- Prior retail and/or sales experience
- Experience providing high-end or exceptional customer service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong professionalism and judgment
- A dependable and responsible work ethic
- An entrepreneurial mindset and ability to think independently
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Confidence handling customer transactions and busy sales periods
- The ability to recognize what needs to be done and take initiative
- Flexibility when priorities or projects change
- Comfort working independently while coordinating effectively with the owner and other seasonal contractors
Previous experience working with a small business, entrepreneur, seasonal market, pop-up, luxury retailer, wellness brand, or owner-operated company is a major plus.
PROJECTS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Seasonal contractors may provide support in a variety of areas depending on experience, availability, and business needs, including:
- Professionally engaging and communicating with customers
- Educating customers about products and assisting with purchasing decisions
- Processing customer sales and transactions
- Maintaining an organized, polished, customer-ready retail space
- Merchandising and restocking products
- Monitoring and maintaining inventory
- Assisting with booth displays, signage, fixtures, and merchandising adjustments
- Troubleshooting or fixing displays when needed
- Transporting products, supplies, or materials between Bryant Park and Union Square
- Running occasional business-related errands between locations
- Assisting with inventory organization and product movement
- Supporting social media content, photography, video, or behind-the-scenes market content when needed
- Assisting with special projects and other seasonal business needs as they arise
Because this is a small, owner-operated business, no two days are necessarily identical. The ideal contractor is someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable moving between customer-facing sales, merchandising, organization, problem-solving, errands, and special projects.
SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY
Seasonal Engagement: November 1, 2026 – January 2, 2027
Compensation: $20/hour
Both full-time and part-time availability will be considered.
Applicants must have strong holiday-season availability and flexibility.
Weekends and holidays are mandatory, as November and December represent the busiest and most important portion of our business year.
Applicants should be upfront about any known scheduling conflicts when applying. Reliability and honoring agreed-upon availability are extremely important.
THE PERSON WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You may be an especially strong fit if you are someone who:
Shows up. Follows through. Thinks ahead. Communicates. Solves problems.
Working alongside a small business owner is very different from being one person among hundreds of employees at a large corporation. Every person involved during the holiday season has a meaningful impact on our customers, our displays, our operations, and ultimately the success of the business.
We value individuals who can be trusted with responsibility, work independently, communicate when something needs attention, and understand that professionalism and reliability matter just as much as sales ability.
If you have strong retail experience, genuinely enjoy helping customers, work well independently, and take pride in doing excellent work without needing constant supervision, we would love to hear from you.

- Your general availability from November 1 through January 2
