APRN – 6-Week Contract | Behavioral Health

Location: Norwich, CT
Pay: $114/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Contract: 6 weeks

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) for a 6-week contract opportunity in a behavioral health setting in Norwich, CT.

Position Overview

The APRN will provide comprehensive psychiatric and behavioral health care to adult patients in a structured mental health environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an APRN with experience working with individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and comprehensive mental health assessments
  • Assess patients' current mental and emotional status
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans
  • Diagnose and treat psychiatric and behavioral health conditions within scope of practice
  • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications as appropriate
  • Monitor patient response to medications and make treatment adjustments
  • Provide ongoing follow-up and medication management
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and coordinate patient care
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Assess for safety concerns, including changes in mental status or risk factors
  • Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, and wellness
  • Respond appropriately to behavioral health crises and changing patient needs

Ideal Candidate

  • Active APRN license and appropriate Connecticut credentials
  • Psychiatric/mental health experience preferred
  • Experience working with adults in behavioral health, community mental health, inpatient, residential, or similar settings is a plus
  • Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills
  • Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team
