About The Opportunity
The Cyperus Group, a New York City-based staffing and recruiting firm, is conducting a search for an experienced Trademark Paralegal on behalf of a confidential global organization.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a detail-oriented legal professional to support a sophisticated international trademark portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with attorneys, outside counsel, and business stakeholders on trademark prosecution, portfolio management, brand protection, and intellectual property operations.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Trademark Portfolio Management
- Manage domestic and international trademark and copyright matters throughout the asset lifecycle, including filings, prosecution, maintenance, and renewals.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and outside counsel regarding trademark portfolio activities.
- Monitor deadlines and ensure timely completion of required filings and actions.
- Support intellectual property portfolio strategies and brand protection initiatives.
Docketing & Portfolio Administration
- Maintain accurate trademark records and docketing systems.
- Track deadlines, filings, renewals, and prosecution activities.
- Conduct audits to ensure portfolio accuracy and data integrity.
- Prepare portfolio reports and status updates for attorneys and business stakeholders.
Trademark Clearance
- Conduct preliminary trademark searches and screening reviews.
- Coordinate trademark clearance requests among legal teams, marketing departments, and external service providers.
- Assist with evaluating proposed trademarks and brand names.
Enforcement & Brand Protection
- Assist with trademark disputes, opposition proceedings, and domain name matters.
- Support online brand protection efforts, including monitoring and removal of infringing content.
- Manage brand registry programs and assist with enforcement activities involving unauthorized use of intellectual property.
Operational Support
- Participate in the development and enhancement of trademark processes, workflows, and best practices.
- Support initiatives designed to improve operational efficiency and consistency across intellectual property functions.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 2 years of trademark prosecution paralegal experience within a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Knowledge of USPTO procedures and international trademark filing systems, including WIPO and the Madrid Protocol.
- Experience with trademark docketing and portfolio management systems.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred
- Experience with Saegis, CPI, or other trademark management platforms.
- Familiarity with USPTO eTEAS filings.
- Experience utilizing AI-powered productivity and research tools, including Gemini, NotebookLM, or similar platforms.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $86,000 - $107,500 annually
Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, skills, and overall fit for the position.
