About Barkside

https://www.barksidedogbar.com/

At Barkside, we're not just a bar – we're a unique destination that celebrates the bond between people and their dogs. Our vibrant atmosphere welcomes dog lovers of every kind to safely socialize, enjoy

both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and create lasting memories with their furry friends. We're currently seeking passionate and enthusiastic individuals to join our pack as we build a haven for dogs and their parents.

As a Barkside team member, you'll be at the heart of our operation, ensuring that both our human and canine visitors have a fantastic experience. You'll play a pivotal role in every aspect of the Barkside experience. Oh, and you'll be responsible for fielding endless dog kisses along the way!

Rufferee

As a Rufferee, you'll oversee and ensure a safe and joyous environment for our furry guests, fostering positive interactions and tail-wagging fun in our play areas at Barkside

Responsibilities

  • Part time role, ability to work three to four days per week, including weekends.
  • Actively supervise our off-leash play areas, reading canine body language to keep playtime safe and fun for the whole pack.
  • Enforce Barkside's park rules and etiquette, stepping in early to redirect rough play before it becomes a real issue.
  • Quickly and calmly de-escalate any tension or scuffles between dogs, prioritizing the safety of every guest, human and canine.
  • Monitor group size, dog-to-dog dynamics, and individual temperaments throughout each shift, matching new arrivals into play groups thoughtfully.
  • Communicate with pet parents about their dog's behavior, needs, and any incidents during their visit.
  • Assist with welcoming and checking in new guests, both human and canine, with a warm and friendly demeanor.
  • Keep the play areas and common spaces clean throughout each shift, including cleaning up after dogs and restocking water and supplies.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a client service role working directly with dogs is preferred, but not required.
  • Comfort and confidence around groups of unfamiliar dogs of varying sizes, energy levels, and temperaments.
  • Passion for dogs and a genuine love for taking care of clients.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and their furry companions.
  • Ability to stay calm, clear-headed, and decisive under pressure.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn various tasks and roles within the business.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the space for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to contribute to a harmonious work environment.
