This is a temp to hire position.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare finished machined parts and assemblies for shipment according to customer and company requirements.
  • Verify part numbers, revision level, quantities, purchase order information, and shipping destinations before shipment.
  • Package products appropriately to prevent damage, corrosion, contamination, or deterioration during transportation.
  • Prepare and verify packing slips, bills of lading, shipping labels, and other required shipping documentation.
  • Ensure required customer documentation accompanies shipments when applicable, including certifications, inspection reports, or other quality documents.
  • Coordinate daily outgoing shipments with production.
  • Receive incoming materials, tooling, supplies, and customer-provided products.
  • Verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders and report discrepancies or damage.
  • Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, receipts, and returned materials.
  • Stage completed orders in designated shipping areas and maintain proper identification and traceability.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shipping and receiving area.
  • Monitor and maintain reasonable inventory levels of boxes, pallets, banding, wrapping materials, and other shipping supplies.
  • Make local and regional customer and supplier deliveries and pickups using company vehicles.
  • Follow assigned delivery schedules and communicate delays or delivery issues promptly.
  • Obtain required signatures, delivery receipts, or other proof of delivery.
  • Properly secure loads to prevent shifting, damage, or loss during transportation.
  • Inspect company delivery vehicles and report maintenance, safety, or mechanical concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness and professional appearance of company delivery vehicles.
  • Follow DOT, traffic, vehicle-weight, and cargo-securement requirements applicable to the vehicle being operated.
  • Handle customer-owned and high-value machined components carefully and professionally.
  • Maintain separation and identification of parts to prevent mixing customer orders or part numbers.
  • Assist with movement of raw material to work centers as defined.
  • Support inventory counts and material-location accuracy when requested.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, freight carriers, and internal personnel.
  • Report damaged product, packaging issues, quantity discrepancies, or documentation problems before shipment.
  • Follow company quality procedures and applicable ISO/AS9100 shipping, identification, preservation, and traceability requirements.
  • Follow all company safety policies, including forklift, lifting, PPE, and material-handling requirements.
  • Perform other shipping, receiving, delivery, and general shop-support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Due to our customer requirements, this is limited to US Citizens only
  • Must be over 21 years of age with a valid Indiana driver license
  • Taurus Tool and Engineering requires an Official Driver Record (ODR) to be supplied by candidate at the time of application. This is free to obtain on BMV website
  • Ability to safely operate company delivery vehicles.
  • Forklift experience preferred; company certification may be required.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use ERP, shipping, and carrier software.
  • Ability to read purchase orders, packing slips, part numbers, quantities, and shipping instructions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize shipments based on production and customer requirements.
  • Dependable attendance and ability to meet time-sensitive delivery schedules.
  • Professional communication skills when interacting with customers and suppliers.
  • Previous shipping/receiving, manufacturing, warehouse, or delivery experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with machined components, raw materials, and manufacturing environments is beneficial.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly lift and carry packages and materials up to approximately 60 lb.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and perform material-handling activities throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely enter and exit delivery vehicles repeatedly.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around machinery, forklifts, metal products, oils, and normal industrial noise.
  • Ability to safely handle irregularly shaped, heavy, or high-value machined components using appropriate lifting equipment.
