Business Development Sales Representative
Job Description
Business Development Manager — Deep Foundation & Deep Soils Solutions
Stronghold Foundation Repair | Northern California | Full-time | Base + Commission
The role
Stronghold Foundation Repair installs deep foundation systems for structures that can't be supported by the soil they're sitting on — helical piles, driven piers, and pile-supported foundations. Expansive clay, undocumented fill, liquefiable sands, high groundwater, seismic retrofit. When a soils report comes back bad, we're the answer.
Your job is to make sure engineers know that.
This is a specification sale, not a retail sale. You'll build relationships with geotechnical engineers, structural engineers, architects, and general contractors across Northern California, and become the person they call when a project has a bearing capacity or settlement problem. You're not knocking doors or sitting at kitchen tables. You're getting our systems named in the spec, early, while the design is still moving.
What you'll actually do
- Build relationships with geotechnical and structural engineering firms, architects, and GCs across the region
- Run lunch-and-learns and continuing education sessions on deep foundation systems, pile capacity, and load transfer
- Review soils reports and preliminary plans with engineers and propose pile solutions at the design stage
- Get Stronghold's systems written into specifications and details
- Feed estimating the technical context behind each opportunity and support bid strategy
- Represent Stronghold at ASCE, geotechnical, and industry association events, and walk sites with engineers
- Run a real pipeline and know where every relationship stands
Who we're looking for
You need enough technical credibility that an engineer takes you seriously. That can come from several directions:
- Technical sales or business development in construction products, geotechnical services, or specialty contracting
- A civil, geotechnical, or structural background — degree or field experience — with genuine interest in the commercial side is a plus
- Estimating or project management in foundations, piling, shoring, or heavy civil, with the people skills to move outside may be involved or managed
What matters is that you can read a soils report, hold your own on allowable capacity and settlement, and be comfortable saying "let me confirm that and get back to you" instead of guessing.
You'll also need to be organized enough to run a 12-to-24-month sales cycle, self-directed enough to build a territory without supervision, and willing to spend real time in the truck. Clean driving record required.
Why Stronghold
- A licensed General A contractor with roughly 20 field personnel behind you — when you sell it, we can actually build it
- We do the work the volume shops can't: foundation replacement, new foundations, engineered and commercial scopes
- A defined Northern California territory and the room to build it your way
- Direct access to ownership. No layers, no corporate approval chain, no quota handed down from a call center
Compensation
- Base salary plus commission
- [Company truck
- [PTO / paid holidays]
- Phone and laptop provided
