Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a Field Service Technician I to provide technical service and support at customer locations. This position is responsible for performing field service activities safely and efficiently, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment, and ensuring customer systems remain operational.
The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of technical or field service experience, strong troubleshooting abilities, and excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform field service activities at customer sites in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment and identify equipment conditions requiring attention.
- Identify and resolve safety issues involving company- and customer-owned equipment.
- Provide direct technical support and communication to customers.
- Work across multiple customer locations and with various technologies and systems.
- Serve as a first-line technical service resource in a customer-facing environment.
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair assigned systems and equipment.
- Take ownership of system operation and repair activities at customer locations.
- Maintain and properly care for company vehicles, tools, equipment, and other property.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures and contribute to a strong safety culture.
- Complete service documentation and required reports.
- Use computers, mobile devices, Microsoft Office, and other technology as required.
- Travel to customer locations, meetings, training sessions, and seminars as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of relevant technical, field service, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or skilled-trades experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and smart/mobile devices.
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card.
- Ability to pass a required credit check.
- Ability to obtain a Class A or Class B CDL with applicable endorsements, as required.
- Ability to safely operate or accommodate driving responsibilities in a company vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in any of the following areas is preferred:
- Water valves and water systems
- Plumbing
- Skilled trades
- Reverse osmosis systems
- Water treatment equipment
- Mechanical or electrical equipment service
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
- Ability to walk, write, and type frequently.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to climb and descend stairs.
- Ability to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull as required.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to work in temperatures ranging from approximately 0°ree;F to 120°ree;F.
- May work in environments where hearing protection is required.
- May be exposed to varying levels of dust and dirt.
- May work on concrete and other industrial surfaces.
- Ability to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
- Willingness to travel to other locations, meetings, and seminars when required.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, safety-conscious Field Service Technician with strong troubleshooting and customer service skills. Candidates with experience in plumbing, water systems, reverse osmosis, valves, or skilled trades are especially encouraged to apply.
